In just a few weeks E3 2019 will begin but Nintendo decided to host a small presentation for their upcoming game Super Mario Maker 2. Showcasing the new features being added to the title such as a story mode and multiplayer.
The Nintendo Switch exclusive was announced back in February 2019 before going dark. Now, Nintendo decided to open the floodgates with a whole host of new information. Things such as the ability for vertical sublevels, on/off switches, changing the water level, and new sound effects.
As for the multiplayer mode, players can compete or play cooperatively either online or locally. Strangely, to play locally at least 1 player must be connected to Nintendo Switch Online and everyone needs a copy. No share play here.
The story mode will have several levels created by Nintendo. With the goal being rebuilding Peach's Castle.
Lastly, Nintendo is offering a 12-month subscription to Nintendo Switch Online as part of the limited edition version of Super Mario Maker 2.
The original game already had an insane amount of options, now I can only imagine what the community will create with these choices. With the summer drought upon us, it seems that Nintendo has the strongest game this season.
Super Mario Maker 2 releases for Nintendo Switch on June 28, 2019.
