The news was shared on PlayStation's official Twitter account that:

With Layden now departing everyone wonders who will take his position. Considering that Sony is at the top of the gaming industry, with the PS4 soaring beyond the Xbox One and having some of the best exclusives this generation such as Horizon Zero Dawn, Marvel's Spider-Man, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, and God of War. The system shipped 100 million units and is regarded to many as the most popular console this generation.
Layden joins former Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime as the second major figure of the 3 major console manufacturers to depart from their role.
