A New Halo Game Will Available Next Month

Halo: Spartan Strike will be a top-down twin-stick shooter for PC and Windows Phone

Microsoft announced the release of a new Halo game, prior to the launch of the widely expected Halo 5: Guardians. Halo: Spartan Strike will follow the steps of its predecessor, Halo: Spartan Assault, as a top-down game featuring everyone’s favorite super-soldiers.

This new addition to the franchise will be a twin-stick shooter, but not a direct sequel to Halo: Spartan Assault; it is rather a spiritual successor. The game will take place during the events of Halo 2 and will include achievements, weekly challenges and leaderboards. Nothing’s yet to be said about the story of the game, but we can speculate that the Master Chief will be present, in one way or another.

Halo Spartan Strike Release Date

Halo: Spartan Strike will be available November 12 at a $5.99 USD price tag. Players will be able to buy it via Steam or as a combo which will include the copy for Windows 8 as well as the copy for Windows Phone.  Android, iOS and consoles players will be disappointed to know that, according to Fred LaPorte, one of the game’s producers, there are no current plans to take to game to any of these platforms.

Let’s remember that Halo: Spartan Strike will not be the only Halo-related product to be released this year. As announced in this year’s E3, Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be hitting the shelves on November 11. This pack will include every core game from the Halo series (Halo: CE Anniversary Edition, Halo 2 Anniversary Edition, Halo 3 and Halo 4), as well as Halo: Nightfall, the live-action series that, apparently, will take place in the semi-destroyed Installation 04. Furthermore, the bundle will also grant access to the multiplayer Beta of Halo 5: Guardians, starting, December 29. So, it seems the last two months of 2014 will be filled with Spartan action you cannot miss.
