Publisher and developer Fireblade Software today announced that naval FTL-like Abandon Ship will leave Steam Early Access next week, on October 22nd. A sizeable final update will mark the occasion, introducing the full main story, a 15th region to explore, a brand new Freeplay mode, and more.

Abandon Ship has spent over a year and a half in Steam Early Access, time in which it has grown quite significantly. Various updates have introduced sea forts and wanted levels, new regions, alongside a campaign where you play as the nefarious cult that's otherwise hounding you.

Developer Fireblade Software hopes to support Abandon Ship past its full release. "The more successful our full release, the more content we'll keep putting in beyond our launch", the post announcing the departure from Steam Early Access, which is where you can also check out a recap of all the updates the game has seen.

You can check out our Abandon Ship preview from last year in which we got an early look at what the game had to offer.
