Nintendo Co-Founder of Nintendo of America, Alan Stone, passes away at 71

Nintendo has been a constant contributor to the game industry. Developing engaging games and new technology. However, the gaming juggernaut started off selling Hanafuda cards until it broke in the arcade business. With hard work and talent people the company emerged into the success, it is today. But today news of one of the company's founding fathers surfaced, Alan Stone passed away.

Alan Stone, former vice president and co-founder of Nintendo of America passed away on Friday, February 17th after a battle with cancer. Stone began his start in the game industry when he formed Far East Video in 1979 to aid Nintendo in bringing their arcade games to the West. Years later he was named vice president of Nintendo of America and was instrumental in bringing Donkey Kong to the states. He would later join Sega Entertainment as CEO and President in 1994. Stone served on the Board of Directors at Nanotech Entertainment
