Apple App Scandal
News by Craig Bryan on Jul 07, 2010
In has been announced that Apple has banned a host of applications (which include games) from the iTunes Store, after the realization that at least one of its developers were purchasing their own Apps using customers accounts, boosting their rating’s and pushing them to the top of the weekly featured lists.
It is believed that 42 out of the top 50 books were involved and a Mr. Nguyen has been named responsible for the brunt of the scandal. It’s thought that he could have netted around $1 million (£660,000) during the process, all of which I’m sure Apple will be very eager to get back into the pockets of its valued customers.
“If your credit card or iTunes password is stolen and used on iTunes we recommend that you contact your financial institution and inquire about cancelling the card and issuing a chargeback for any unauthorized transactions,” said Apple official Trudy Muller. We also suggest that you change your iTunes passwords and any other information you deem appropriate, just to be on the safe side.
This news comes on the back of criticism towards Apple over possible signal strength problems in their latest gadget, the iPhone 4.
