Batman: Arkham Asylum ships 2.5 million

Eidos and Warner Bros Interactive have announced the shipment of 2.5 million copies of their summer blockbuster Batman: Arkham Asylum.
The game has garnered much critical praise, currently holding a 92 aggregate review score on Metacritic (based on 73 reviews) and fueling Game of the Year buzz.
Without a doubt, the milestone is partially due to the massive popularity of the Batman license. The most recent film, 2008's The Dark Knight, is the second-highest grossing film in North America of all time.
Arkham Asylum has players donning the iconic cowl, tasked with defeating the Joker and the various villains he has released throughout the asylum. Returning for the game is voice talent from the '90s animated series, including Kevin Conroy as Batman and Mark Hamill as the Joker.
Downloadable content for the title has been available since last week, with more in the pipeline.
