Battlefield 3 announced

Electronic Arts confirmed the release of Battlefield 3. Also, EA released a game trailer and confirmed the release date for spring 2011. Furthermore, the publisher also revealed it will make a special presentation of Battlefield 3during Game Developers Conference, which begins on February 28. EA also explained that before the launch there will be a beta of the multiplayer online with guaranteed access to players who bought Medal of Honor Limited Edition. It was also stated that Battlefield 3 will use the new graphics engine from DICE, Frostbite 2.0.
The next issue of Game Informer which prints Battlefield 3 on the cover, will bring new information about the game. The company added that the title will feature local and online multiplayer. Battlefield 3's online multiplayer will support 64 players (on PC) as well as a single player campaign and cooperative mode. Battlefield 3 is the sequel to Battlefield 2 and not Bad Company.
