Battlefield 6. You know the name, you know the game. But it's just getting started. We have been loving the game since day one, and the hype is higher than Travis Scott. With launch numbers climbing and fan interest at an all-time high, DICE is ready to expand the "battlefield" even further.

Recently, we got a sneak peek at what's coming in Season 1. The first phase, Rogue Ops, is set to go live on October 28. It introduces the Blackwell Fields map, a couple of new weapons, some new attachments, a new game mode, and even a new vehicle.

Phase two, California Resistance, arrives on November 18 with the Eastwood map. Finally, phase three, Winter Offensive, is scheduled for December 9 and will feature an icy version of Empire State along with additional new content. Each season will roll out new content every month. These updates will not only enhance multiplayer but also allow you to craft your own experiences using the Portal tool.

Rogue Ops promises squads a challenge as they try to conquer the Blackwell Fields map using strategy and teamwork. California Resistance sees the homegrown United States Alliance taking on the odds in the Battle of Eastwood. Winter Offensive will round out the year with icy combat and fresh surprises.

There's also been a major leak suggesting that Battlefield 6's long-awaited Battle Royale mode could arrive very, very soon with Season 1.

This free-to-play mode is expected to launch on October 28, potentially as a "shadow drop" with a trailer released the day before. EA reportedly wants to avoid overshadowing the premium launch hype.

Battle Royale in Battlefield 6 has been under wraps for some time, but new leaks have started to paint a clearer picture. The mode is said to feature a massive map set in California. Players will face the deadliest circles in any battle royale yet, as a deadly firestorm will close in and eliminate anyone caught in its path (Fortnite, much?).

But even if it's a conventional concept like other battle royales have done before, Battlefield 6 promises something different.

Heavy vehicles, including tanks, are expected to play a major role. Leaked footage suggests that these tanks are not only "eye candy" but could also become major game-changers if you don't play your cards right. Vehicular battle has been a pillar of the Battlefield game, so it only makes sense that the same goes for the BR mode.

You will also have access to custom loadout drops, allowing you to use your own weapon builds. Some will be earned by completing missions, while others will drop during matches. Real-time destruction is another key feature that lets you wreak havoc by tearing down buildings and opening new lines of sight to exploit.

You start matches with just a pistol, a grenade, and a sledgehammer, but the pistol can be customized before you drop in.

Launching the BR alongside Season 1 means the game mode's already got a lot of hype riding on it. Season 1 itself is packed with content, and the addition of a free-to-play battle royale could bring in an entirely new audience. The free-to-play aspect is what's most important.

The November update could also involve the battle royale map, and the Eastwood map might be included in the BR experience. Some leaks say that even a golf facility in California may be involved. DICE seems to be leaving itself some leeway in case changes are needed, which means the dates could shift a bit.

Battlefield 6 is shaping up to offer a hell of a lot of content and gameplay options. Between the new maps, modes, weapons, etc., you are going to have plenty to explore. The Battle Royale is just the cherry on top.

It's important to remember that nothing is official until the developers confirm it.

That said, everything points toward October 28, with Rogue Ops and the Battle Royale mode launching together to keep the momentum going. Battlefield 6 is only getting started. With Season 1 and the Battle Royale mode arriving soon, the game is going to become even bigger. DICE is showing us that Battlefield 6 is not just a game you play—it's a battlefield you live.
