Beyond Good and Evil 2 Requires an Internet Connection
Beyond Good and Evil 2 needs to be online

Beyond Good & Evil 2 has been a long time coming but the information Ubisoft has been providing has had some mixed reception among gamers. The latest gameplay footage shows the large open world and will feature an online cooperative experience, completely the opposing of the original single-player game. Now it has been confirmed on the Beyond Good & Evil 2's website that you'll need a constant internet connection.
You can play the game along but to play online an internet connection is needed, shocking I know.
“Beyond Good and Evil 2 is an online, multiplayer game with a rich co-op and seamless experience. As such, the game will only be playable with an internet connection in order to have seamless navigation, receive dynamic updates, and play with friends (which is certainly better when you’re playing as a Space Pirate!). The choice to play co-op, however, remains yours to make, so playing BGE2 solo is absolutely possible if you’re into that lone Space Pirate kinda thing…”
This most likely won't resonate well with fans of the series as the original was heralded for being an incredible single-player adventure. It's clear that Beyond Good & Evil 2 will take a massive new direction and after waiting for nearly 15 years for a sequel it's either this or nothing.
Beyond Good & Evil 2 is now in development without a release date.
