Bungie Vaults Destiny 2: Forsaken
The expansion will no longer be playable after February 22.

Bungie has announced that the Destiny 2: Forsaken expansion will be placed within the Destiny Content Vault on February 22, 2022. This date coincides with the release of The Witch Queen expansion. Once vaulted, the Tangled Shore and all related content will not be accessible by players for an indeterminate amount of time. Bungie did clarify that The Dreaming City will still be accessible. The main reason for this decision is to facilitate the release of The Witch Queen but comes off as a forced migration and purchase.
Bungie will be allowing free full access to the Forsaken expansion on December 7, until its closure. Those that did buy Forsaken will receive three Ciphers or Ascended Shards as compensation. However, Destiny 2 players are in an uproar over the news, as there will be no cash refund for those that purchased Forsaken in full. Additionally, the expansion contains many story and lore elements that will make playing the rest of Destiny 2 disjointed for new or returning players.
