Six Days In Fallujah was a canceled historical third-person shooter in development by Konami.

It was announced in 2009 but was pulled shortly after because it was deemed too controversial.

The developer behind the game was Atomic Games, with the studio's last title being another war shooter called Breach.

President of Atomic Games Peter Tamte stated in a 2012 interview with Digital Spy that the game was "definitely not canceled":

"Six Days in Fallujah is definitely not cancelled. It is very important to us for reasons far beyond just making a product that we finish Six Days, but, it will require time and persistence."

Now, over a decade later, a new trailer for the game has been released.

The project is headed by Victura which was founded by Tamte in 2016. Highwire Games have been chosen to develop the game.

Highwire was founded by Jamie Griesemer (lead designer for the original Halo and Destiny), Marty O'Donnell (director and composer for Halo and Destiny), and Jared Noftel (co-founder of Airtight Games).

Tamte had this to say on the revival:

"It's hard to understand what combat is actually like through fake people doing fake things in fake places. This generation showed sacrifice and courage in Iraq as remarkable as any in history. And now they're offering the rest of us a new way to understand one of the most important events of our century. It's time to challenge outdated stereotypes about what video games can be."

Six Days in Fallujah is set to release sometime this year for PC and consoles.
