Counter-Strike: Global Offensive announced

Valve recently announced Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Scheduled for early 2012, the title will no longer be exclusive to PCs and will be available for consoles through PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE. Among the new features, promises to bring further new maps, game modes, characters and weapons. Moreover, according to the studio, very content of the original CS is updated so that older players feel at home, but there are also several unpublished materials.

 


According to Doug Lombard, Valve's marketing vice president, the idea is to make Counter-Strike: Global Offensive expand the experience of its predecessor and bring elements of a new generation to classic gameplay. Lombard also said that the new CS will have a playable demo at PAX and the London Games Festival. Among the novelties, the developer announced a new ranking system and setting up matches, and game modes that will be revealed later.
