According to the statement, you'll lose all purchases and applications along with any store credit.
"Deleting your Facebook account will also delete your Oculus information...This includes your app purchases and achievements. You will no longer be able to return any apps and will lose any existing store credits."
This will make separating from Facebook near impossible for users who invest in the Oculus Rift 2. Those with a Quest, Rift, or Rift 2 who haven't linked their accounts are spared if you do it now.
This is a huge deal as digital purchases are convenient but are linked to a specific store. If the store goes under or gets shut down by the company all those purchases become unavailable. We've seen this with Nintendo when they close off parts of the eShop to certain platforms or failed consoles like the OUYA.
With this new procedure, Facebook has total control and is a dangerous step if other companies try to do something similar.
