First L.A. Noire Review Revealed
News by Marco Cecilio on May 15, 2011
British newspaper The Guardian inadvertently published the first L.A. Noire review, Rockstar's upcoming title that will officially launch on May 17. The title has received top marks from the publication, which praised the good controls and the very well done plot, but cited the lack of action, which can be considered a negative point for some players.
Following a second analysis, also with maximum score, was published by the Xbox 360's official magazine. The publication's editor, Jon Hicks, hastened to say that the text published was false, and that the real review score will go live next week.
In response to criticism that L.A. Noire had few elements of action, the vice president of development for Rockstar Games, Jeronimo Barrera, said the game aims to be much more than that. "We try to bring the media along. If games become just shoot, and start dying, the future will be a very boring,” he said.

For him, technology, until now, did not allow the main focus of the titles were in the gameplay and plot. According to Barrera, the main aspect of L.A. Noire is the actors' performances, which are transported to the digital models with the full complexity of real performances.
Barrera is not the only one thinking that way. In an interview with Develop, Valve representatives said they are very excited about the facial capture technology seen on L.A. Noire. The Gateway's developer, however, doubt that the style works in their narrative molds, which focuses on the interaction with the players instead of looking like a pre-recorded video.
LA Noire was developed entirely for the PlayStation 3 and later ported to the Xbox 360. The game, for a long time, was Sony's exclusive. For Brendan McNamara, president of Team Bondi, this kind of work is becoming an industry standard. "It seems to be less difficult from the PS3 to the X360, rather than the reverse."
L.A. Noire is coming May 17, for PS3 and X360 and our review should be published sometime next week, stay tuned!
