Formsoftware’s long-awaited news about two of the studio's most-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 games. Kadokawa Corporation recently shared information with investors that both Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition and The Duskbloods will still be released globally in 2026 on Nintendo's next-generation console.

There hasn't been much talk about either project for months, especially The Duskbloods, which was first shown off during the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct last year and hasn't been discussed much since then. Along with the investor confirmation, neither game got any major new gameplay video or release dates. However, just the reassurance has started a conversation again in the FromSoftware community.

Some of the technology problems with Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition were said to be being fixed behind the scenes.

While there aren’t many reports, the news and Kadokawa’s most recent reaffirmation have many supporters thinking progress is still being made. There have also been growing suspicions concerning the game's release date, as Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition was seen on a Canadian store list with a potential release date of July 10, 2026.

The date hasn't been confirmed, but it's already drawing a lot of attention, as FromSoftware tends to release major games on Fridays, and July 10 is perfectly on track. At least Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition has generated some amount of conversation regarding its progress, but The Duskbloods is still much less obvious.

The game has been very well ignored by the public since its reveal trailer debuted at the April Nintendo Switch 2 event over a year ago. Since then, fans haven't gotten much important information about the game's gameplay, world design, progression mechanics, or even the full structure of its much-talked-about PvPvE idea.

The long period of quiet about the project has only made people more interested, especially since FromSoftware is known for atmospheric stories and unique multiplayer design. The Duskbloods might be one of the more inventive game the studio has released recently, judging by what we know thus far. Early descriptions have hinted at player-versus-player and player-versus-environment. environment mix, but the actual gameplay loop is yet to be known.

It’s still unclear whether the game is primarily about cooperative survival, extraction-style gameplay, or competitive action-RPG combat. The old fans are still eager, but they don't have much information. Many players still view this game as one of the most exciting potential exclusives for Nintendo's next-gen hardware.

Both projects are currently in development, meaning FromSoftware and Nintendo are working more closely together on future platform strategy.

Elden Ring and its expansions on the Switch 2 would be one of the biggest third-party titles in the works for the system yet. The main game and all of its downloadable content will probably be packaged together in the Tarnished Edition. This might offer hundreds of hours of entertainment to Nintendo fans who are just beginning to explore the universe of the Lands Between.

Many fans are excited about the release because they can play one of the most popular modern RPGs on the go. The original Elden Ring was a worldwide smash and was lauded upon release for its open-world design, challenging combat, and rich exploration. At the same time, very little is known about the Duskbloods; thus, the excitement continues to build.

With so many large games revealed years in advance and regularly marketed, the project’s nearly complete lack of attention has sparked a sense of amazement rarely seen in the modern gaming industry. At this point, neither game has a fully confirmed release date, but Kadokawa's most recent update for investors is the clearest sign yet that both games are still on the company's 2026 plan.

Fans were starting to wonder if delays or problems within the development teams might push either project past next year, so this proof is very important for them. Instead, the publisher seems optimistic enough to keep lining up both releases with the launch window for the Nintendo Switch 2.

For now, players are still looking for more specific information, especially about The Duskbloods. But since 2026 is approaching quickly, more and more people think that FromSoftware and Nintendo will soon start showing a much clearer picture of how both projects work in real life.

Fans of the studio are still doing what they've always done: looking at store listings, watching reveal videos again, and getting ready for what could be two of the biggest Nintendo Switch 2 releases yet.
