German Petition Haults Ban
News by Fishdalf on Jul 30, 2009
NoobFeed reported last month that the German government planned to ban violent video games and video games that contained violent acts or scenes in them, but that has been put on hold for the time being, after an online petition, which amassed 50,000 signatures forced a review.
It was hoped that the ban would have been enforced before September, when the German federal elections take place, but now that is looking highly unlikely. That doesn’t mean it will stop the rule going ahead altogether though, as a petition to stop internet censorship reached 130,000 signatures, but the law still passed, only slightly modified.
