With two major downloadable content (DLC) updates, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 keeps adding to its historically accurate world. The first is the story-driven Brushes with Death update, and the second is the Horse Racing and Mounted Archery update, which makes the game more fun to play.

These add-ons add new weapons, skills, and ways to customize the game, which will appeal to both combat and role-playing fans. They do this by combining historical accuracy with new gameplay elements.

The Horse Racing and Mounted Archery DLC adds new skills and equipment to improve mounted combat and horse management. There are now two new horse armors available: Kin's Chanfron, a single-piece steel helmet with colorful tassels that is both decorative and useful; and Zamur's Bridal, a bridle that is meant to improve speed and stamina.

Kin's Chanfron: This helmet is more than pretty to look at; it also makes your horse much braver and stronger. It is made of solid steel and has pretty tassels, making it a great choice for mounted archers who need a strong horse for the battlefield.

Zamur's Bridal: This bridal is focused on speed and stamina boost. It makes your horse stronger during long races or battles, but it's not quite as fast as the best Tournament Bridle. Still, it's a great option for players who want to balance their racing and fighting needs.

By completing the tutorial quests that are linked to this update, players can learn two brand-new horsemanship skills:

Argin Tav: When you're mounted, your ranged weapons do 10% more damage. This makes mounted archery a lot more dangerous.

Equestrian Explorer: Lessens the loss of stamina when moving your horse and increases your visibility on the fast travel map, making it easier to control your horse and explore.

Mastering these skills can make mounted gameplay very different, putting more emphasis on strategic stamina use and making mounted combat more effective.

The Brushes with Death DLC adds a story layer and beautiful, historically accurate weapons and armor. It often comes with a lot of backstory and new ways to play the game.

Madman's Long Sword: This reforged longsword has balanced damage from slashes and stabs, and it has real battle wear and tear that makes it look like it's been used a lot, like real medieval combat.

Rond Dagger: This triangular dagger was found stuck in the head of a dead body and is very good at cutting through armor, making it a useful tool for sneaky or tactical takedowns.

Helmet of the Lord of Hell: This bascinet helmet has the snout of a grotesque pig and scary horns on it to scare off enemies and hide your identity when mission-critical.

Murderer's Painted Helmet: This helmet has the famous Burkhard's signature missing rim, which adds to the sense of realism and adds a new gameplay mechanic called "authentic armor painting."

Lord of Hell's Garb: A bright red knight's waffenrock draped with chains, great for players who want to look truly scary and memorable in the Middle Ages.

Miser's Cuirass: This cuirass is given to you by the painter NPC after you complete certain missions. It is a historically accurate style that is rarely seen in the game and combines plate armor and brigandine. It looks good and protects you well, with defense stats that are on par with the best armor sets.

The full shield painting system is one of the most exciting new features. You can get to it at any time during the DLC by going to Master Voya in the Trosky region. With this feature, players can completely change their shields by picking from four different types:

  • The Cuman Shield: A small, round shield with simple patterns that can be changed.
  • The Heater Shield: A classic medieval shield that can be made in a lot of different ways.
  • Knight Shield: A standard kite shield that can be customized in the same way that the heater shield can.
  • Painted Pavise: A bigger shield that looks like a tower and lets you paint it in different ways.

Each type of shield has a large selection of background patterns based on historical events, including bordure, wheel, sun, rose, and nebula. The colors range from argent and sable to peacock feather and night sky.

Symbolic designs broken down into groups can be put on players' shields: There are eagles, doves, a basilisk, bulls, cats, horses, and other animals. There are symbols and designs based on religion, such as crescent moons, devils, blessings, and designs inspired by faith, but surprisingly, there are no Christian crosses.

Nature themes include flower patterns, oak leaves, rivers, stars, and pictures of the sun. Craft and Historical Symbols: Players can make shields with a medieval flair by using crests, mosaics, and heraldic designs like the Vanov Crest or the Moravian Eagle.

You can change the look of any shield without affecting its stats by painting it again. This lets you combine performance with personal or historical style. As you reach story milestones, more realistic and complex designs become available, giving you a bigger and bigger canvas for your in-game identity.
