Mecha BREAK Launching with Major Overhaul: All Mechs and Modes Unlocked Day One
Free-to-play giant revamps progression, revamps customization, and teases epic new content ahead of release.

Mecha BREAK is almost ready for release, and the developers have just finished an AMA where they discussed all the changes made since the beta and provided new information about the Season Zero preview and launch plans. Big news: the team has listened to what players had to say and made significant changes to how the game progresses, its balance, player customization options, and more.
What did you learn the most? Every player will be able to use all 12 mechs right away. No walls in the way of progress, no hard gates, and no need to grind. This is true for all game modes, so you can go straight into 3v3, 6v6, ranked playlists, or any other mode.

When you start the game, you can choose between a tutorial mode and a veteran mode. The veteran mode skips the tutorial and lets you jump right into the full experience, unlocking all mechs and modes right away. Beta players may recall a lengthy animation that played when they unlocked each mech. You can now skip these or watch them whenever you like.
The old credit system has been replaced by mission tokens, which are a new currency that players earn and spend on different parts of the game. This switch supports the idea of full day-one unlock because you no longer need to earn credits to unlock mechs.
The controversial mod system, which lets you improve the stats of weapons, has been taken out of all 3v3 and 6v6 modes. You'll instead be competing with standard characters and weapons, which will make the game fairer. Mods can still be used in Mhashmok (MSH), a newly updated ranked mode, but they are closely monitored there.
MSH also adds items that can be destroyed and looted, letting you steal gear from opponents who have been killed, and it takes away mid-match weapon upgrades to make things fairer. Players can wait in line to play in Easy, Normal, or Extreme difficulty modes. Damage caps are used in Easy and Normal to stop smurfing with too much gear, which keeps matches fair and competitive. The Extreme mode has no limits for people who want to fight with all their might.
The customization in Mecha BREAK got a big boost. You can now fully paint and customize all weapons. There are now more ways to design characters, including the addition of new facial features and the option to change gender at any time. Pilots of any gender can use any mech.
A cleaner lobby interface makes it easier to change striker and weapon loadouts, which is good for players' comfort. The player hangar has expanded into a large, multi-use hub. You are free to go into new areas, such as the medical bay, the pilot lounge, the changing rooms, the training pods, the weapon display rack, the ship showcase, and even the showers and bathrooms, which you can fully interact with.

There are hidden rooms like a gym and an arcade waiting to be found, but the developers haven't told us all about them yet. It's not just to show that this hanger is fully fleshed out; in future updates, you'll be able to change it up and invite friends to visit, which is a social element that's not often found in shooter games.
A powerful photo mode with advanced camera controls and a sophisticated posing system is one of the best features. With multiple anchor points, you can change where characters are, making it one of the most flexible photo modes in any game to date.
There will soon be new content, such as the Escape from Mhashmok mode with a new boss fight and PvP map, and two new strikers. The Stellaris is one of these new mechs. It is a light enforcer made for close combat. The other mech is still a secret, but hints about it were made during the AMA.
Mecha BREAK comes out first on Xbox and PC. Later this year, it will also be available on PlayStation 5. No exact date was given, but it's thought to be between 4 and 6 months after launch, maybe around the holidays.
More information about the launch date will be available soon, but there will also be a custom physical collector's edition. The developers confirmed that all paid customizations will only change the way things look. The controversial "pay-to-win" parts have been removed. Skin teasers for Panthers and other designs show that there are many stylish options that won't change how the game is played.
Mecha BREAK has changed a lot since its beta days, and the launch update shows that. It will be a fair and highly customizable free-to-play mech shooter, as all mechs and game modes will be unlocked right away. There will be no pay-to-win systems, customization, and player hubs will be expanded, and competitive play will only use mods in a special ranked mode.
