The Sinking City 2 Guide | Subterranean City E.R.C. Locations

The Subterranean City contains three Emergency Relief Crates in The Sinking City 2, with the crates spread across the Cave, Portal Room, and Camp areas.

You’ll need to collect the corresponding E.R.C. Activator Pens and backtrack to several crates before progressing to the final section.

Cave E.R.C. Location

The first Subterranean City E.R.C. Crate can be found in a dark cave area shortly after entering the Subterranean City during Chapter 5. You can spot the crate while exploring the area, but you won't have an Activator Pen for it yet.

Rather than trying to open it immediately, remember its location and continue progressing through the Subterranean City. You'll obtain the required pen later in the chapter, allowing you to return to this area.

Portal Room E.R.C. Location

Continue through the Subterranean City until you reach the Portal Room. Before moving on, thoroughly search the room for supplies and collectibles.

An E.R.C. Activator Pen is sitting on one of the crates in the Portal Room. Pick it up before heading upstairs.

Take the stairs to the second floor, where you'll find another Emergency Relief Crate. Use the Activator Pen on it to unlock the container.

The Portal Room E.R.C. Crate rewards you with a Rifle upgrade.

How to Open the Cave E.R.C. Crate

After opening the Portal Room crate, continue through the Crypt and into Upper Storage. You'll find another E.R.C. Activator Pen in this area.

Continue into the Gallery, where you can find another Activator Pen. Once you've collected the necessary pens, backtrack to the first cave and open the E.R.C. Crate you passed earlier.

The Cave E.R.C. Crate rewards you with Dream Essence.

Camp E.R.C. Location

The final crate in this section is found at the Camp, inside the large tent near the cliffside. You'll encounter this crate before you have the required Activator Pen.

After progressing through the Subterranean City, return to the Gallery and collect the E.R.C. Activator Pen there. Take it back to the Camp and use it on the crate inside the large tent.

The Camp E.R.C. Crate contains a Rifle upgrade and is the final Emergency Relief Crate in the main game.

Subterranean City E.R.C. Rewards

Opening all three crates in this section gives you Dream Essence and two Rifle upgrades. These are the final E.R.C. rewards you'll collect before completing the game's 13-crate requirement.

If you're working toward the Behind Every Crate Man... achievement, make sure all three crates have been opened before completing the final section. All 13 E.R.C. Crates must be opened in a single playthrough.
