The Sinking City 2 Guide | How to Get The Minuteman SMG

The Minuteman is a submachine gun found in the Generator Room on the basement level of Devil’s Reef Hotel in Chapter 2: The Wake-Up Call. To reach it, unlock the Lorelei Lock, make your way through the basement, and pick up The Minuteman from the table beside the ventilation machine.

The Minuteman is the second major weapon you can obtain in Chapter 2 of The Sinking City 2. Unlike the Field Surgeon, which is found relatively early in the chapter, the Minuteman is located much deeper inside Devil’s Reef Hotel.

You won't be able to reach the weapon immediately after entering the hotel. First, you'll need to progress through the hotel, collect the three keys required for the Lorelei Lock, and open the route leading to the basement.

Where to Find The Minuteman

The Minuteman is located in the Generator Room on Floor -1F of Devil’s Reef Hotel.

Continue through the hotel until you obtain the three keys needed for the Lorelei Lock. These keys are obtained by opening the three Lorelei Chests scattered throughout the hotel. Once you have all three, return to the basement and use them on the Lorelei Lock to open the way forward.

How to Reach the Generator Room

After opening the Lorelei Lock, follow the newly accessible basement route toward the Generator Room.

The corridor contains several dangerous growths that can explode when approached. Shoot them from a safe distance before moving forward.

Continue through the basement until you reach the alternate entrance to the Generator Room. Once inside, look for the large red generator and the ventilation machinery.

How to Get The Minuteman

Walk up to the weapon on the table and interact with it to add The Minuteman to your inventory.

Make sure you pick up The Minuteman before activating the Ventilation System. The weapon is located in the same room as the ventilation machine, so it's easy to collect while you're preparing to solve the next puzzle.

Picking up The Minuteman also unlocks the Fast Friends achievement/trophy.

The Minuteman and Mustard Gas

The Minuteman isn't the only reward for finding the weapon. Picking it up also automatically unlocks the Mustard Gas crafting recipe.

You don't need to complete an additional objective to unlock the recipe. Simply collecting The Minuteman adds the recipe to your crafting options.

The Minuteman is particularly useful against groups of enemies because of its high rate of fire. However, its ammunition can disappear quickly, so controlled bursts are usually more efficient than holding down the trigger continuously.
