Longtime fans of Bungie's sci-fi shooter can barely contain their excitement as the developer prepares Season of the Deep for Destiny 2, as there will be plenty of content in store for players. However, according to a leaker there may be something extra strange in store for players.
Destiny 2 is arguably one of the most successful live-service games currently available on the market and has been around for quite some time, initially released in 2017, in its 7 years, the game has garnered quite the fanbase, but for quite some time now my longtime players of the game have felt that gameplay has begun to feel stale. Bungie seems to be aware of this as with Season of The Deep, many major changes are going to be happening with the game, such as greatly reducing endgame grinding.
While this upcoming change is greatly appreciated, especially by many veteran players of the game, many have felt that updating the game's economy won't change the gameplay loop. However, according to a Destiny 2 leaker, Bungie will implement a rather unusual feature in Season 21 and that is, a fishing mini-game of all things. As ridiculous as that may sound, there may be some validity to this as the Discord Leaker known as Liz has been proven right in the past.
Along with the fishing mini-game, Liz also claims that a slew of other content will be added to the game such as a submarine on Titan, three unique new Exotic weapons, the usual seasonal activities and more. All of this seems to be the standard for Destiny 2, if you exclude fishing of course. Liz goes into further detail and claims that when you fish on Titan, you will be able to keep whatever you catch in an aquarium housed in the HELM.
There is a lot riding on Destiny 2's upcoming expansion, especially after the large amount of backslash Bungie faced after the Lightfall DLC and season 20 as a whole, which was criticized by both fans and players alike. Many players are looking forward to the new dungeon that will be coming in Season of the Deep, as well as all the content that will surely keep most players busy for quite some time.
If the leaker is correct then it would seem that Bungie intends on livening up the game by introducing new and rather strange mechanics to the game. However, we will have to see if these claims turn out to be true.
