OnLive Goes Free (again)!

Who loves free stuff? We love free stuff! We hope you do to, because we have some good news.

Game streaming company, OnLive, has announced it will drop its monthly fees and provide its services for free from now on. The formerly $14.95 per month service was already bumped away until 2011 before. Afterwards, a guaranteed $4.95 fee was promised to anyone signing up before 2011. But now, it seems no monthly fees will ever be redeemed by the company.

According to Steve Perlman, Founder & CEO, this only proves what they had been hoping and researching from the start; claiming: “Although we wish we could have confirmed no monthly fee from the get-go, pioneering a major new video game paradigm is hard: we had to first grow to a large base of regular users before we could understand usage patterns and operating costs.”

So, now the service to efficiently stream graphic intensive games will come without a monthly cost, nor will you need a credit card to sign up for its free program. From this advantage, you’ll gain access to free instant-play Demos, massive spectating, Brag Clip™ videos, messaging and friending.

You’ll even be able to play on your television, via the MicroConsole™ TV Adapters and OnLive Game Pad Controllers that are in manufacturing now. This hardware will be available to founding members first.
