No PS Vita 2

After attempting to make a dent into the handheld market with PSP, PSP Go, and PS Vita Sony is officially done with the handheld market.

In a new conversation with Game Informer, Sony Interactive Entertainment President and CEO Jim Ryan has all but confirmed that PlayStation is done with handheld gaming. Stating the company is no longer moving in that direction. “PlayStation Vita was brilliant in many ways, and the actual gaming experience was great, but clearly it’s a business that we’re no longer in now,” he said.
Sony's handhelds always had a cult following. The systems, while powerful, couldn't compete with the Nintendo DS and 3DS. Despite having a handful of great exclusive games like Crisis Core: Final Fantasy and Resistance Retribution Nintendo's cheaper option and stronger lineup were too much for any of Sony's handheld consoles to compete with.
Sony did try with the PS Vita. Making it compatible with the PS3 and PS4, offering free games via PlayStation Plus, and offering free PS Vita versions of certain games when you purchased the console versions. But now with the mobile market replacing handhelds completely, it seems prudent that Sony would decide to bow out.
