Pokken Tournament 2018 Competition Announced

Prove yourself the best at Pokken Tournament

This year players can compete in 2 qualifying events to earn a trip to the Pokkén Tournament World Championships this August in Nashville, TN, then Japan in the Pokemon World Championship.

There are 2 age divisions; the Master Division is everyone born from 2002 or earlier and the Senior Division for anyone born in 2003 and later. To qualify for the Pokkén Tournament World Championships players must place in the 256 placement bracket either the series event or the Last Chance Qualifier on the Pokkén Tournament World Championships Friday of Worlds weekend. Only 16 Masters and 8 Senior Division players are allowed in the Pokkén Tournament World Championship.

2 Masters and one Senior from Oceania Internationals
4 Masters 
2 Seniors from North America International
4 Masters and 2 Seniors from the Sheffield Regional Championships

Only those players in the Last Chance Qualifier will earn an invitation to Japan.

The competition will not allow Nintendo Switch Pro Controllers and will provide HORI wired controller or a wired fight stick.

Regional and International Championship Events

Masters Division

1st place: $1,250 and Worlds invitation
2nd place: $1,000 and Worlds invitation
3rd place: $750 and Worlds invitation*
4th place: $600 and Worlds invitation*
5th place tie: $450 each
7th place tie: $250 each

*Note: Only two players from the Oceania International Championships receive invitations.

Senior Division

1st place: Nintendo Switch console, 72 Pokémon Trading Card Game booster packs, and Worlds invitation
2nd place: Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, 36 Pokémon Trading Card Game booster packs, and Worlds invitation*
3rd place: 36 Pokémon Trading Card Game booster packs

*Note: Only one player from the Oceania International Championships receives an invitation.

1st place: $6,000
2nd place: $4,000
3rd place: $3,000
4th place: $2,000
5th place tie: $1,500 each
7th place tie: $1,000 each

Senior Division

1st place: $3,000 Pokémon Visa® Prepaid Card
