Returnal Latest Trailer Features Various Weapons, Tools, And Risky Buffs

Returnal is Housemarque's next big game that has the player surviving a mission on repeat, attempting to break the time loop. The latest trailer highlights some of the 10 base weapons and over 90 weapon traits players can use. Along with buffs that add benefits but with a cost. 

From the previous reveals we know that protagonist Selene can't escape this fate by simply dying. Each time the loop resets and plays out differently, with alternate weapons and items being available for her to use.

Each weapon will have an alt-fire mode and thanks to adaptive triggers players can slightly pull the trigger to switch between both firing options. This will take some getting used to but Selene is limited to only 1 weapon at a time so choose wisely.

The 1 constant in each cycle is the Cthonos, an alien device that provides a random item that increases performance and will provide 1 permanent boost with enough items obtained. Parasites are the odd items that provide benefits at a cost such as regenerating health but causing enemies to leave behind pools of acid when killed.

Returnal launches on PS5 this March 19th.
