Rockstar Will Continue to Develop Single Player Experiences, Says Publisher Take Two's CEO
CEO Strauss Zelnick adresses the topic in a recent earnings call

Rockstar is doing incredibly well at the moment with the online versions of GTA Online and Red Dead Redemption 2.
The company set new records for player count with GTA Online in 2020, despite the game releasing in 2013.
Meanwhile, Red Dead Online has also seen a steadily increasing player count and is now offered as a standalone product.
As such, fans have been concerned that Rockstar will shift away from single-player experiences. This won't be the case, though, according to the CEO of Take Two - the owner of Rockstar games.

In a recent earnings call, Strauss Zelnick said this about Rockstar and their single-player games:
"The folks at Rockstar Games intended to create a powerful single-player experience a story-driven experience. And Rockstar has always been known for great stories and great single-player experiences and then developed in addition, a massive multiplayer opportunity over the past years,"
He also said that it's not a matter of choosing online or singleplayer endeavors; Rockstar can do both:
"I think it's a reminder, not that we needed one, that Rockstar Games can do both of those things at the highest possible level of execution in our business,"
Zelnick continued, discussing the idea of the industry heading towards a multiplayer-centric model:
"We didn't believe that I said specifically and publicly that we didn't believe that, our labels don't believe that."
It seems Take-Two and Rockstar's devotion to single-player experiences won't be slowing anytime soon.
Red Dead Redemption 2 and Grand Theft Auto 5 can be played on Xbox One, Xbox Series X & S, PS4, PS5, and PC.
