The well-known developers of the Batman: Arkham series, Rocksteady Studios, have hired a new game director, and the whole industry is buzzing. Bill Money, a veteran with a lot of experience, is now in charge of the studio's next Batman project. Even though he has worked on Assassin's Creed before, many people say that his important role in Batman: Arkham Origins is what makes him the best candidate.
Bill Money's work spans over ten years, demonstrating his skill and versatility in various game types. He started working at WB Montreal in August 2011 and left in July 2014. During this time, he had several jobs, but most of them were for smaller PC and iOS projects.

But as design director on Arkham Origins, the prequel to Rocksteady's highly acclaimed Arkham series, he did something really great. Origins taught him how to create open levels, implement third-person action, and utilize hand-to-hand combat, which is what made him an expert in action-adventure games.
After Money left WB Montreal, he worked on a Microsoft project that ultimately didn't materialize. After that, he joined Ubisoft and worked on some of the company's biggest games, like Assassin's Creed Valhalla and its DLC, as well as Mirage. Money worked at Ubisoft for about ten years and got better at designing big, open worlds and making complicated game systems. These are skills that will definitely show up in Rocksteady's next project.
Money came back to WB Games in July 2025 and quickly became the game director for Rocksteady. The time is especially interesting because Rocksteady has been hiring new people lately. The company had posted a job for a game director months before, looking for someone with strong skills in third-person action, melee combat, and moving around in an open world. Money fits that description perfectly, which makes him a great choice to lead the next Batman movie.
People in the business world are guessing what the next Rocksteady Batman game will be like. There have been rumors of a remake of Arkham Asylum, but Money's open-world skills might not be fully utilized in such a project. Even though Asylum had some semi-open world places, they weren't as big as Arkham City or Valhalla. It's possible to create a remake using existing plans, but it may not truly advance the brand.
A lot of people think that the next game will be completely different, and it might be about Batman in a new way. Still in its early stages, the project is likely Rocksteady testing out ideas and themes for gameplay that make the most of Money's experience with designing open worlds and action games.
There aren't many details available yet, but people who work on the project say that it might not be linked to James Gunn's movie universe. This would give Rocksteady the freedom to make its own connected world.
The earliest it is likely to come out is around 2029, although it could be released earlier. It is intended for next-generation consoles. Fans shouldn't expect a launch that is focused on the PS5, since the game is being made with future hardware in mind.

The hiring of Bill Money is a major turning point for Rocksteady. He has ten years of experience making both story-driven action games and huge open-world adventures. He has the leadership skills and artistic vision to change the Batman franchise for the better. The team will work hard over the next few years to create a game that combines both fan-favorite mechanics and brand-new, unique experiences.
The gaming community is getting more and more excited to see how Money's skills will be used in the next Batman experience. With Rocksteady's track record and Money's amazing list of games and experience in his hands, fans are looking forward to a game that could change the way superhero games are made.
