Splinter Cell franchise may return to PS3

Sam Fisher’s latest outing may be exclusive to Microsoft platforms now, but Splinter Cell: Conviction’s creative director, Max Beland, said that we may see the series back on PlayStation 3 in the future.
“I don’t see why it wouldn’t. I’m not involved in the business deals. I joined Splinter Cell after the exclusivity deal with Microsoft had already been signed, but there’s no reason why Splinter Cell couldn’t be on the PS3,” Beland said in an interview with Edge.
Beland also stated the next installment in the Splinter Cell franchise will be “open to new deals,” adding that “we could even be a PS3 exclusive if there’s a deal that makes people happy there.”
Odds of Sony entering another bidding war with Microsoft are pretty small, since SCEA publisher relations senior vice president Rob Dyer stated that they are “not going to compete with Microsoft on that front.” Beland proposed more Splinter Cell content in the future, since it falls under the category on Ubisoft’s incentive to release new games (from other franchises) on a yearly basis.
Beland ended his statement saying that “in a year you’ll have another Splinter Cell, but right now the direction Yves gave us and where the company is going to go is, at one point, if the direction doesn’t change, yes you’re going to be seeing Splinter Cell games, just like Assassin’s Creed games, just like anything else, released a little bit more often.”
