A Memoir to an Old Blog

General by DeltaX on  Jul 08, 2010

It's been exactly one year since I posted my last blog on Gamespot. I left that place long ago, no doubt faring to the fractured community after the Gerstmann incident, and following lack of attention to the blog due to school. Things happened, relationships changed, the world moved on. And memories of it faded to the wind.

The blog was my very first foray into the online internet community, as far as I could remember. I originally created the account so I could keep track of games and monitor news status updates, I started speaking with people with like interests, and received friend invites. I thought I could get used to this, and I did. My network grew, and I met many new people; people with differing perspectives, personality, and interests. The world that I never really experienced as the anti-socialite that I was in real life. It was also the first and only time where I'd actually uploaded a video to the internet (using crappy Windows Movie Maker and cut videos from an F2P MMO I used to play).

I'd done and said things very unbecoming of who I was today on that blog (which was subsequently deleted, so don't try and sniff around for it!), and it's sort of a reminder of what I used to be a lot like when I was younger: brash, reckless, and very rude. I can also attribute part of my leave to that as well. I can't say I really regret all the idiotic stuff I did there; it helped me learn.

I had many good friends on GS, some of which, after checking their profiles (names, lots of names... lots of familiar names...), have also seemed to have moved on as well, either to GiantBomb or otherwise. Some still remain and are still blogging on GS, even after all the time I've been gone. I bid them peace, and much luck in their future endeavors. I've run into a few of them here on Noobfeed, and it's always fun to still see them around.
