If you're looking for the spell Furnace Command in the DLC, you should know that it doesn't drop randomly and isn't tied to side quests. The statue gives you a trade reward after you beat Eirene, so the boss is the real gate, not a hidden chest or a secret path.

Where Furnace Command came from

To unlock Furnace Command, you have to beat Eirene, the Warfare Bishop. Once that fight is over, you can get the spell by trading it with the statue on the central stairs in the Hall of Crucible. If you still can't find the spell, the safest thing to think is that Eirene hasn't been cleared yet or the statue reward hasn't been claimed.

If you want to get to Furnace Command the cleanest way, stop treating Eirene like a damage race. The fight is a lot easier when things stay calm. When Eirene starts chaining attacks with less space between them, the fight gets more dangerous. That's usually where panic starts. The last step is easy once Eirene, the Warfare Bishop, is dead. Go back to the statue of the reward and trade it for Furnace Command. You don't have to think too much about the route or keep looking for it in side areas. The whole unlock is based on beating the boss fight and then getting the trade reward right away.
