AI LIMIT: Eirene's Furnace of War has a main challenge mode called Trials of War. It is very different from a normal story area. This mode is based on doing the same thing over and over, scaling up within its own system, and getting rewards that are linked to the DLC itself. That's why the best thing to do is not to rush it like you would in a normal zone. Each run should be like a controlled test of spacing, stamina, and boss discipline to make it work better.

How to get into Trials of War

You have to start the DLC first. After you finish the base game in this playthrough, you should choose "Continue" from the main menu instead of "Start a new cycle." That takes Arrisa back to Outer-Wall Ruins – Temporary Campsite, where talking to Assis starts the DLC route. The gate in Sewer Town—North, in front of Branch Sewer Bypass, leads to the new content and the Furnace Arena structure that powers Trials of War.

How Trials of War works

The most important thing to remember is that Trials of War has its own independent scaling. New Game+ progression doesn't have any effect on it, which makes it much easier to learn than it first seems. The DLC also lets you turn Semi-Void Form on or off separately in Trials of War. This means you can change this mode without having to change settings outside of the DLC challenge loop.

The best way to deal with the early runs

The first runs should be played at a slow pace. The biggest mistake is trying to clear them like a quick boss rush. To do well early on, you need to read the enemy's rhythm, stay in the middle range, and take short punish windows instead of long combos. When a run feels messy, it's usually because you're overcommitting, not because of low damage.

How to stay alive in the later runs

When the mode starts to push harder, the best thing to do is to slow down even more. Trials of War punishes people who panic. That usually means healing only after full recovery windows, resetting spacing after short punishes, and saving stamina instead of forcing one more swing. The safest answer is still the same. Clean dodges, short punishments, and then a reset before the next sequence starts.

The best way to think about clearing Trials of War

Instead of one long sprint, think of each room and encounter as a small test. This will help you get the cleanest clears. Trials of War is designed to reward people who have control. The mode is much easier to read if the run stays calm. If the pace gets greedy, it usually breaks down quickly.
