AI LIMIT: Eirene’s Furnace of War Guide | How to Unlock Boss Rush and Training Mode

The most important thing to know about this DLC if you want to unlock the replayable modes in AI LIMIT: Eirene's Furnace of War is that it is endgame content. You can only get to it after you finish the main story in this playthrough. After that, you have to choose "Continue" instead of "Start a New Cycle." This takes Arrisa back to the Outer-Wall Ruins – Temporary Campsite, where talking to Assis starts the DLC route.

How to get into the DLC area

The next step after talking to Assis is Sewer Town—North. The gate in front of Branch Sewer Bypass that is locked is the one that matters. The DLC route goes through that gate and continues the story into the Northern Parish and the Temple of War.

Where Boss Rush and Training Mode come from: Eirene's Furnace of War adds three modes that you can play again and again: Boss Rush, Training, and a separate roguelite-style mode. After you get through the first part of the Temple of War and defeat the guards, these modes will be available for free. That means you can't unlock it just by installing the update and going into the area once. You have to actually make progress in the DLC.

What these modes are used for

The Boss Rush Mode is made for fighting bosses in a row and getting rewards. The Training Mode is there so you can practice against certain bosses and test builds in a more controlled setting. When you open these modes, the DLC stops feeling like a one-time extra chapter and starts to feel like a real endgame loop for testing builds, rematches, and cleaner clears.

The mistake that usually keeps the unlock from happening

Starting a new cycle after finishing the base game is the most common problem. The DLC is linked to the state of the current playthrough after the end, so doing that can lock the content away until the game is finished again. The first thing to do if the challenge modes aren't showing up is to make sure that the DLC was added by going to Continue, then Assis, and finally the Sewer Town – North gate route.
