A rig of this power level rarely comes in a smaller footprint. The NASA M2 chassis offers an ultra-compact setup that accommodates the Astral RTX 5090 and the Ryzen 9 9950X3D.
It combines 4K gaming and productivity performance with regulated thermals, running in a compact form factor with a clean and simple design.

Chassis and Component Fit
We begin with the case because the Ncase M2 is what makes this large build possible. This compact case can hold all Aircord 5090 models, and we test that limit by placing the large Astral model from Asus inside. The chassis also supports a 280mm liquid cooler, which pairs well with high-performance CPUs.
Asus ROG Strix X870i is the motherboard we utilise. It features a good VRM layout, a compact heatsink design, and support for Gen5 SSDs.
Choosing a CPU and thinking about heat
We are preparing the Ryzen 9 9950X3D next. ITX systems are commonly multipurpose devices, and many customers want a compact workstation that also plays games at a high level. Ryzen 9 9950X3D gives capability in both scenarios without sacrifice. However, employing a chip of this quality in an ITX enclosure demands balance.
You need to control the thermal output, and you can achieve this with a high-quality ITX board, a suitable cooler, and the mesh ventilation in the M2 chassis.
Cooling Setup
We install the NZXT Kraken 280. Fitting a cooler of this scale into a small construction provides thermal overhead rarely seen in smaller systems, where cooling is frequently restricted to low-profile air units. This upgrade enables the system to maintain optimal CPU performance without exceeding thermal limits. GPU Installation
ROG Astral RTX5090 is what we add to the system. It has four fans, one of which is a rear-pull fan that increases airflow by around 20%. The dual-tone finish and simple lighting harmonise with the overall clean appearance of the construction. The GPU and cooling components occupy nearly all available space, resulting in a dense internal arrangement.

Stress Test for Battlefield 6
We begin testing with Battlefield 6 at 4K utilising the Overkill preset. With the GPU drawing roughly 500W, gameplay averages 115 fps. At a room temperature of 22 °C, GPU temperatures peak slightly under 63 °C and stabilize around 57 °C after 20 minutes. In regular AAA gaming, the machine maintains predicted temperatures within this tiny casing.
Furmark GPU Load Test
We head to Furmark to explore thermal limits. During a 15-minute run at full 600W power demand, the GPU reaches an average temperature of 68.5 °C. These readings show that the cooling system can manage significant loads without overheating.
With the 9950X3D, a 4TB Samsung 990 Pro, and 64GB of 6000-speed RAM, productivity performance is a major aspect of the setup. In Cinebench multi-core testing, the CPU averages 70.5 °C and peaks at 86.8 °C.
Next, we test a combined CPU and GPU stress load that exceeds 800W. The average CPU temperature is 90° after 30 minutes, with no throttling, and the GPU temperature stays at 63°. This result indicates that things remain stable even when the workload exceeds usual levels.
Sound Output
We examine noise levels at full load. When the GPU uses 600W or less, the fans speed up, but the system stays under control. When you play games or perform regular tasks, the noise level decreases because power demand and heat generation are lower.

Final Thoughts
The small PC provides consistent performance across gaming and productivity workloads. The M2 chassis, high-capacity cooling, and smart component layout all work together to enable the system to run a full RTX 5090 and Ryzen 9 9950X3D in an ITX form factor.
