The year is 2047. The world is no longer as before and much of what were familiar no longer exists or has been completely changed. The biggest example is the city of New York, which replaced the rush of everyday life through a desolate landscape with no signs of human life. The vegetation took over the buildings, streams cut through the remnants of asphalt, the low light that reaches the streets comes from trees that were scattered everywhere. That's exactly what you'll find in Crysis 3. That and a huge dome that isolates the location of the outside world under the pretext of protecting people from aliens who have invaded the planet. But more than serving as a shield for what is out there, this barrier serves to hold what's inside: you.
It is from this assumption that the new game from Crytek comes to consoles. This new setting in the series already shows the new approach that the developer gave to the title, bringing the very best of its predecessors in a single scenario. This means that we will notice the hunt climate for the first game in conjunction with the strategic possibilities that urban landscapes offered to this sequel. All this washed with the classic graphic quality of CryEngine 3. However, what will really attract players is that the hunting mood is around the whole plot.
Those who followed the previous games can now get an idea of what is to come, because we have either the Alien race Ceph or CELL soldiers in an attempt to grab the exoskeleton used by the protagonist - in a city that will become a kind of arena. The difference, however, is that in the game you will become hunter and kill all those who persecute you - as the Creative Development director of the game, Rasmus Højengaard, explained in an interview with VG247. For this, we need to transform the city into a real forest, creating different areas. The neighborhoods - called The Seven Wonder - have very specific characteristics which directly influence the gameplay and the way you face your enemies.
As explained to IGN, there are areas with closed vegetation and others in which you must deal with swamps that can harm your movement. As can be seen in the first trailer, one of the big news of Crysis 3 is the fact that we have a new weapon: a bow. This may seem strange at first, since the series has always been known for its futuristic look, but it's not hard to realize that this feature is also presented in the tribal equipment. The first major point is that the bow can be completely changed, which means the player has complete freedom to add and remove components to create different effects. The customization with different types of arrows means that we have a wide range of strategic options available.
The armor will also receive some improvements, but Crytek did not revealed any of the news about the exoskeleton. The only thing I could see in the trailer is that the camouflage will return and that we can abuse the stealth to kill without being seen. Another resource identified by the Computer and Video Games is to use the nanosuit to hack and monitor alien arsenal, which can create interesting situations. However, you are not alone in having the best technology of 2047 to participate in this hunt in Liberty Dome. Both members of Ceph and CELL also use weapons and other advanced equipment to try to overthrow you.
If we're talking about Crysis, it is clear that the graphics would be extremely important. To the delight of the great visual fans, the new game does not disappoint. Although we have virtually the same engine of its predecessor, the developer struggled to go a step further in this regard. According Højengaard, the studio ran into some memory limitations, but the research and development team is trying to reach a result that no console has reached before. In addition, he also explained that there should be no major differences between the PC version and the console versions, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
