Techland's Dying Light: The Beast arrives in the genre to add flavour to the zombie horror genre. This edition brings enriched parkour, survival, and enthralling melee combat, taking place in the wild dystopian Castor Woods.

This guide will cover how you can take on the Mist.

When you're doing the First Blood quest, there will be a boss encounter with a chimera known as the Mist. It can seem a bit overbearing at first, but when he started the attack pattern, it became pretty manageable.

Then Connor will ask you for several minutes, as the Mist has a relatively high endurance, so the fight will test your patience.

The Mist will often use three main attacks:

Smoke Pounce Attack: You often climb onto a high surface and then slam back to the ground. This will create a cloud of smoke before it jumps forward. To survive this, you want to be in the exact moment it launches up and then move to the side to dodge its attack. After dodging, you want to close the distance and lend a few heads before it recovers.
Swipe: when the combat is in close range, it will use its heavy swipe. You want to be alert and dodge instantly when the attack is being used.
Venom Spit: When it's grounded, The Mist will sometimes stand still and spit out streams of venom. It's a pretty easy-to-read attack as it has a visible animation queue. Simply move sideways to avoid taking damage.

Aside from these attacks, The Mist also has an ability that screams into the air and someone's extra infected from the ground.

This can make the fight longer as it takes a while to take everyone down, so it's important that you take everyone on as quickly as you can.

Being victorious will revolve around being knowledgeable about these cues and punishing the Mist amidst them.
