The Star-Lined Sword is one of the fresh Katana additions from the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, bringing the familiar Katana moveset for you to appreciate.

This weapon excels in various combat situations, retaining the fundamental features that make Katanas ideal for PvP fights in Elden Ring.

Combat Performance

The Star-Lined Sword uses the conventional Katana moveset, which gives you consistent and reliable options in battle.

The running heavy attack stands out as particularly effective for pursuing fleeing opponents, while the light attacks execute with notable speed, allowing for quick successive strikes.

When you opt for a dual-wield Katana configuration, you retain access to the powerful chase-down capabilities of both running heavy and running light attacks.

Additionally, this setup grants you access to an improved crouch attack that serves multiple tactical purposes in Elden Ring.

This crouch attack tends to pressure opponents into panic rolling, creating openings for follow-up attacks.

Ash of War Integration

The weapon's Ash of War doesn't work like a real combo sequence, but if you get the time right, you can catch opponents trying to roll away in Elden Ring.

The Ash of War works very well with the stun effect of the crouch strike, making it possible to do a lot of damage in a short amount of time when done right.

Recommended Equipment

If you want to get the most out of the Star-Lined Sword, think about using the Shard of Alexander with the Rotten Winged Sword Insignia.

These talismans work well with the weapon's playstyle because you'll often attack in quick succession, and the Ash of War is your primary source of burst damage in Elden Ring.

Stat Investment

The Star-Lined Sword does the most damage when you invest in dexterity.

Even though the weapon needs intelligence, pure dexterity always does more damage than split dexterity-intelligence setups in Elden Ring.

Suggestions for Building

How you share stats depends on your Invasion level. Investing in pure dexterity is the best way to get the most out of a lower-level build.

At level 150, you can make good split dexterity-intelligence builds with a good distribution of stats.

Higher level ranges of approximately 200 let you invest the most in both dexterity and intelligence, giving you access to the weapon's full potential and keeping your damage output strong throughout all attacks in Elden Ring.
