Elden Ring Nightreign Guide | How To Play Revenant
Here's a detailed guide on how to unlock Revenant and play efficiently.

You can unlock Revenant in Elden Ring Nightreign after you reach the Roundtable Hold. First, find a Small Jar of Bizarre and purchase the item "Besmerched Frame" for 1,500 Runes.
Once you've acquired this item, open your map and notice a new exclamation mark next to a character icon in the Roundtable Hold near the Sparring Grounds.
Approach this area and interact with the ghostly figure to commence a challenging gameplay section in which you must fight Revenant and all her summons at once.
Because Revenant has low health, you may find this fight difficult in classes like Recluse or Duchess; you are encouraged to use an easier class, such as Wilder, Iron Eye, or Raider, for this encounter.
One effective strategy is to focus on Revenant, luring her summons away while dodging her incantation discs. If that proves difficult, you can eliminate summons first and position yourself to avoid Sebastian the Giant Skeleton's powerful ultimate.
After defeating Revenant, you can select her character in the Roundtable Hold and begin her quest, the Revenant Remembrance.
Revenant's Remembrance Quest
As soon as you open the Revenant Remembrance, you can start the story. It can be hard at first to talk to the Guardian in the journal menu and then beat a Night Lord for this quest.
Although the full quest details are available on the wiki, you should complete all Remembrances as soon as possible, as they unlock special chalices, relics, and outfits for your character.
Revenant's Base Stats
You begin with one of the lowest HP pools in the game, sharing a D rating only with Recluse, which gives you a mere 200 HP to work with. This low health means you must rely on your summons and avoid confrontations. You have a decent FP pool of 80 and a stamina stat of 54, hinting at your intended role as a ranged caster.
Revenant excels in Faith, enjoying an S rating tied only with Recluse, so you should focus on incantations and faith-based weapons to generate significant damage.
Your Strength and Dexterity are poor, but you have some Intelligence and Arcane, allowing you to use various elemental-based weapons. However, your primary focus should remain on faith-scaling incantations.
Revenant's Passive and Character Skills
Revenant's passive ability, Necromancy, grants you a chance to raise an enemy as a summon when you deal the killing blow.
To maximize this effect, you should let Revenant finish off weaker enemies, particularly those that spawn before end-of-day bosses, as these waves of ads can become a small army of summons.
These summoned minions can aid you further by drawing aggro and dealing additional damage, and they can sometimes be ghosts of field or area bosses.
Your character skill, Summon Spirit, allows you to strum your lyre and summon one of three ghostly allies. You can only have one phantom active at a time, and each has its own health pool.
If you move too far away, they will disappear and must be resummoned. These phantoms can also help revive downed allies by targeting and picking them up from the ground.
The Three Summons
Helen is a fast, dexterity-based summon who wields a rapier for thrusting attacks and boasts quick evasion. She excels at reaching enemies swiftly and helping clear small groups of foes at the start of boss fights.
Her ultimate unleashes a flurry of rapid thrusts. Frederick is a heavier ally armed with a large bone-grey hammer for overhead slams and sweeping AoE attacks.
While slower, he is tanky enough to draw boss aggro and excel in clustered enemy engagements, with an ultimate that delivers multiple 360-degree hammer strikes.
Sebastian is the giant skeleton whose low-damage AoE roar taunts enemies and whose massive overhead slams and frontal arm sweeps deal significant damage.
His ultimate produces a black stream that excels at flinching even the most enormous bosses. Because he does not move from his spawn point, you should time his ultimate carefully to maximize impact.
Revenant's Ultimate: Immortal March
Your ultimate technique, Immortal March, builds up by dealing damage gradually over time. When activated, it grants you and your party temporary invulnerability for about 15 seconds. Any ally killed during this period will instead be reduced to zero health, making it ideal for boss burns at low health.
Additionally, your active summons will execute their ultimate abilities, so you should coordinate this skill strategically in Night Lord fights. Revenant's remembrance relics can further enhance this skill, so complete her quest as soon as possible to unlock these bonuses.
Revenant Relics and Chalices
You unlock Revenant-specific chalices and relics by completing her remembrance quests. The Revenant Chalice provides a blue-green color combination for your character and is available by progressing her quest. Other chalices and relics can be acquired by defeating bosses and purchasing from the Small Jar Bazaar.
Your relics play a crucial role in FP management. For the starter chalice, focus on increasing HP, Mind, and Faith to boost your survivability, damage, and FP pool.
You can also look for relics that enhance specific incantation groups, such as Black Flame or Dragon Cult spells, and tailor your choices based on boss weaknesses.
Endgame relic combinations you might consider include the Old Portrait, which triggers a Ghost Flame explosion on your ultimate and fully heals nearby allies, combined with a Tranquil Scene Rune for Dragon Cult buffs and the Small Makeup Brush for continuous HP recovery and extra Runes from kills.
Weapons, Gear, and Passives
As a low-HP class, your expedition objective is to find weapons that provide powerful incantations, allowing you to stay at range. Great Church locations on expedition maps often hide chests containing Sacred Seals. Exploring underground passages is particularly rewarding, as you are guaranteed seals there.
Your initial run should include clearing the first camp, reaching level two at a nearby Site of Grace, and heading straight to a Great Church for potent incantations such as Lightning Spear or Black Flame. Although Dragon Breath incantations can be less effective against mobile bosses, they have powerful status effects like Rotten Breath.
When selecting weapons, look for those that scale with Faith. The Coded Sword and Cipher Pata offer S and C Faith scaling, respectively, though they are rarer purple drops. The Clean Rod Spear can serve as an off-hand option paired with FP regen effects.
When selecting gear and talismans, prioritize increased HP, FP regeneration, sacred ground effects, reduced FP costs, faster casting speeds, enhanced incantation potency and duration, and damage negation.
Notable talismans include Faithful's Canvas for incantation boosts, Primal Glintstone Blade for FP cost reduction, and Ancient Spirits' Sworn for FP regeneration on enemy defeats.
Optimizing Party Composition
Revenant fits seamlessly into any party thanks to her tanking summons and damage output. With the proper incantations, weapons, and talismans, you can provide off-tank support and deal significant damage.
Popular party setups include Guardian, Revenant, Duchess, Iron Eye, and Revenant. Remember to heal your summons using your initial Heal spell and any AoE healing incantations you acquire to keep them alive and maintain aggro.
Final Notes
Revenant is a fun and difficult class, especially for new players who are still getting used to how Elden Ring Nightreign works. It can be hard to play her by yourself, but if you use your calls, incantations, and relics wisely, you'll be a great addition to any group.
