When you spot a mage tower in Elden Ring Nightreign, you usually have a seal on the entrance that blocks your entry. To eliminate it, you'll need to find and destroy the crest of the tower. The approach is first to check whether the solution lies within or outside the given range.

The solution lies within if the front door is open but not sealed. You'll need to look around the tower's exterior to see if it's shut with a magical seal.

Exterior Crest Solutions

You can simply go in if you see no crest on the door. The tower here opens without the necessity of solving a puzzle.

Another simple trick in Elden Ring Nightreign is to look up above the door. The crest will occasionally be put just above the entrance. If you don't have a ranged weapon, climb onto the frame above the door and break it manually.

You may find a podium beside the stairs approaching some of the towers. If there is a podium, simply break it.

Sometimes, a shack will be attached to the tower in Elden Ring Nightreign; you'll have to go around to the left of the tower and break the extension. You'll find the crest hidden behind you when you break this extension.

The other two signs on the left-hand side are a bunch of trees that rustle differently from the rest of the leaves. These trees are straightforward to spot, and if you sprint straight through the center of them, you'll shatter the concealed crest beneath the trees.

Some dead trees might also be outside the tower in Elden Ring Nightreign. Breaking them will reveal the crest.

Also, take a look at the right side of the tower. There is usually a small pond beside the tower, and there will be a reflection of a crest floating in the water. This crest is moderately visible; you can break it by jumping or running.

Another thing you should do in Elden Ring Nightreign is look for a wandering tree trunk. These crests can move around, and although they're often near the tower initially, they can drift far away over time. If you missed something obvious near the front of the tower, there's a good chance it could be a moving tree trunk.

Interior Crest Solutions

If the door to the tower is not closed in Elden Ring Nightreign, and you can go inside, then the puzzle of the crest is within. The first thing you are looking for is an unlit candlestick.

When you go in, turn around to the left and see a table with a candlestick. If a candlestick is not lit, the crest will be there. Like the one above the door, when you're outside, you can run through it and then melee it to destroy the crest.

If the candlestick is lit, look for the painting on the right side of the room. If there's no statue near the painting, all you have to do is hit the blank wall near the painting and a table to reveal the crest. Walk through the crest or melee it to break it.
