You begin Everwind by entering a system built around movement, resource collection, and gradual progression. You focus on understanding mechanics from the start, gathering essential tools, and preparing for travel between islands. Your actions shape how quickly you move from the ground into the air, where your airship becomes central to exploration and survival.

Understanding Everwind

You experience Everwind as a structure in which exploration directly connects with progression. You travel across islands, gather materials, and unlock upgrades that allow access to new locations. You move from ground-based exploration to aerial navigation, using your airship as both a means of transport and a mobile base. Each system, including crafting, combat, and scanning, contributes to your advancement.

Initial Setup and Resource Collection

You start inside a tower and collect essential items before leaving. You interact with the Anvil and take it with you after use. You collect the Furnace and the Cooking Pot, storing them in your inventory so you do not need to craft them later. These items remain useful as you transition into building your airship.

You remove Torches from the walls and keep them as backup weapons. If your primary weapon breaks, you use torches to deal burn damage over time. You also learn that you can sprint while moving backward, which allows you to avoid enemy attacks more successfully during early encounters.

On the ground floor, you collect a Key from a skeleton and proceed to a large chest. After opening it and taking the contents, you destroy the chest and add it to your inventory. This chest provides a large storage capacity and becomes useful when setting up your airship base.

Before exiting the tower, you locate a hidden area beneath the stairs. You access it by digging downward, entering through a grate, or finding an outside entrance. Inside, you collect a Force Crystal, arrows, and a potion. The Force Crystal serves as an upgrade material that becomes relevant later in progression.

Movement, Exploration, and Early Survival

You exit the tower and dismantle the nearby Boat, storing it in your inventory. You place it in water when needed to travel between islands after finishing the exploration of the starting area.

As you level up, you open the skill tree and then access the Engineer tab. You select Area Scan as your first unlock. Using the Compass, you activate scan mode to detect nearby points of interest. You repeat this process on every island to ensure you do not miss important locations.

You switch the Compass to a spyglass mode to zoom and view distant islands. This helps you identify whether an island has already been explored. You maintain situational awareness by scanning and observing before moving forward.

While exploring, you break barrels and small boxes to gather materials. If you encounter a storage container with an inventory interface, you loot it before destroying it. You also look for cracked blocks marked with a circle and an X, which indicate hidden areas or loot. These appear through various environments, including surface locations, underground sections, and dungeons.

For healing, you avoid relying on cooked eggs and meat, as they provide limited recovery. Instead, you prepare Swamp Decoction and Mushroom Stew. You gather bulbs near water, collect brown and orange mushrooms, and make a Bucket using Copper Nails, Plant Fiber, and wood. You fill the bucket with water and cook these materials to create more effective healing items.

Crafting and Preparing for Airship Construction

You follow the main Quest to locate a wrecked airship. You scan its components using the Compass to obtain blueprints. These blueprints allow you to craft essential parts, including the Cockpit, Energy Generator, Wooden Engine, and Wooden Balloon.

You travel to additional islands if materials are insufficient, often dismantling other wrecked airships to collect parts. You gather pipes, which are necessary for connecting systems and routing electricity across your airship.

You collect Plant Fiber to produce cloth and rope. You gather wood, convert it into planks, and create sticks if needed. At a assembly station, you assemble all required airship components. Before proceeding, you gather extra building materials to construct a stable foundation for your airship.

Constructing and Activating Your First Airship

You reach an abandoned airship and place the Cockpit to claim it. You begin building the structure using available blocks, forming a foundation that supports all components.

You place the Wooden Balloon in an elevated position above the ship’s core by building upward with blocks. This placement allows you to save deck space for other structures. You install the Wooden Engine and connect it to the Balloon and Energy Generator using pipes, guaranteeing proper power flow.

You fuel the Energy Generator with wood and activate it. Once operational, you gain control of your airship. You interact with the ship’s core to upgrade attributes such as speed, size, and altitude.

You keep Mortivar Skulls, which drop from skeleton enemies, as they are required for altitude upgrades. You place your Anvil, Furnace, Cooking Pot, and storage chest on the deck, converting your airship into a mobile base that supports crafting and storage during exploration.

Efficient Exploration Approaches

You approach island exploration by landing in water while descending from high altitude. Your airship remains above while you explore the area below. After collecting resources, you use the Compass to teleport back to your ship, allowing quick transfer of items into storage.

You repeat this process to maintain a steady flow of materials. As you level up again, you unlock Parry Master, which enables you to block and counter enemy attacks. Successful timing stuns enemies, allowing you to manage combat situations more effectively.

You search for flags that indicate buried treasure and dig beneath them to uncover loot. You also investigate graves by digging in front of tombstones to reveal coffins containing items.

You collect Runes during exploration and apply them to your equipment using Force Crystal Dust, which you obtain from areas with high enemy presence. You also locate towns in the sky where NPCs operate shops. These shops offer gear recipes, but you manage your currency carefully through prioritizing airship upgrades before making purchases.

Progression and Accessing Higher Regions

You upgrade your airship’s altitude using Mortivar Skulls and Force Crystal Dust. Increasing altitude allows you to reach higher islands, which are indicated by indicators on your telescope. These indicators signal the presence of dungeons.

You venture into these dungeons to obtain rewards and stronger equipment. As you continue progressing, you install an additional Balloon to achieve greater. You gather materials from shipwrecks if required to complete this upgrade.

You may also need to install another Energy Generator to support increased power demands. Once all systems are connected, your airship can reach higher regions where enemies and challenges become more demanding.
