Gaming Gadgets Digest (March Edition)
Games by Koshai on Mar 02, 2011
Can’t wait for the new sets of lists of gaming related gadgets that are scattered around the net? Your wait is over because here is the list I made. So enjoy and hopefully I can convince you to buy one of the gadgets below.
Joystick-IT

Some of us do have iPad or any other touch based tablets or any iphone or Android phones and we all play games during the free times. I can confidently say that the touch d-pads in most of the games made for tablets and smartphones sucks bad. I always keep on cursing my beloved phone since I cannot even pass the high score in some of my NES games. Maybe this little piece of aluminum beauty from Think Geek can be a solution. It is easily attachable and can be repositioned easily on the touch screen where the touch d-pads are located and works in most games. To make things better, the top of the joystick is laser etched to make a crosshair design allowing thumb traction. At $24.99-$39.99, you can get this from Think-Geek and solve all your frustrations that you had in mobile gaming.
iDisplay

Most of us tend to use multiple monitors for multitasking purposes. In one monitor, we focus on the games we play while we usually reserve the secondary monitor for email and IM purposes. Some people may not have the room for a second monitor but they do have their handy iPad or Android tablets. iDisplay recently released an application for both iPad and Android tablets which enables the tablet to run as a second monitor. It uses the power of Bluetooth or wifi to synchronize with the desktop display. You can get this application for only $4.99 from the respective marketplace.
The Light Cycle
Source: Hammacher Schlemmer
I seriously could not help myself but to put this, although it does nto related to gaming (or it does indirectly). Instead of me describing this, I should copy paste directly from the Hammacher site (the one who always brings something unexpected).
“This is the illuminated, street-legal motorcycle inspired by the computer animated cycle from the 2010 film Tron: Legacy. Designed for casual cruising and slow ride-bys at shows, it is made from a steel frame covered by a fiberglass cowling that replicates the sleek look of its computer-generated imagery counterpart. Electroluminescent strips built into the tire cowlings, wheel rims, and body illuminate the cycle. It is powered by a fuel-injected Suzuki 996cc, 4-stroke engine. Riders lay at a near-horizontal position astride the padded leather seat, with feet on foot pegs that control its 6-speed constant mesh manual transmission and hands on the handlebars for throttle and braking. The hubless wheels are former truck tires built up then custom-shaped to fit onto one of two counter-rotating rims spinning within each other, providing the broad-tired authenticity of the computer cycles from the movie. A chain-driven friction drum manages acceleration and braking from the handlebars. It has spring-loaded front and rigid rear suspension. Its wet sump lubrication system eliminates tubes and hoses for oil pick-up, facilitating its streamlined, minimalist design. It uses a 3 1/2-gallon main fuel tank and 1 1/4-gallon reserve tank. All cycles are built to order. 8 1/2' L x 23 1/4" W x 28 1/2" H. (474 lbs.)”
So what do you think the price going to be? Oh its quite affordable, I mean very affordable. I seriously mean it. Its $55,000!!!!
Death Star Cookie Jar
Source: StarWars Shop
A must have for every Star War fans and also for most NF users, who are into cookies (especially biZZy). Here is the opportunity to capture Death Star with your hands and fill the inhabitants with delicious cookies (crushing everyone by dropping cookies). The replica is quite fragile (made of cermaric), so you best keep it away from children, since this $49.99 beauty is one of a kind. It is available exclusively at shop.starwars.com.
Sony Wireless keypad for PS3
Source: Officemax
This could be an handy addition to PS3 users (I guess more than 360 users). At least I will be benefited from this as I log in to the PS3 browser to watch cricket world up in big screen. Or if anyone of you have thousands of IMs flocking in and you need to track them all up while playing (quite irritating anyway though), this can be really helpful. I don’t know whether the price is justifiable. It is $49.99 from OfficeMax.
TurtleBeach Earforce DPX 21
Source: TurtleBeach
The hot new product from TurtleBeach is designed for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC/Mac gaming. It offers full thrilling Dolby 7.1 surround sound experience and crystal clear communication over Playstation Network and Xbox Live, thus giving you a competitive advantage while gaming. It also support bass boost, stereo expander for stereo panorama, Chat boost dynamic talkback and independent controls for game and audio volume. It can be connected and powered through USB. The price is quite steep: $149.00.
Kidz Gear headphones
Source: Gear for kids
I don’t know how this little device can make a difference, but hey it’s for kids. So if anyone of you parents have kids in your home why not you try this. I guess I will have to try this on my little cousins. I need to see their reactions. Here is the description the site gave:
“The first adult-featured stereo headphones made specifically for kids. Manufactured with the same high quality components as those used in high-performance adult headphones, the Kidz Gear Wired Headphones deliver extremely rich stereo sound quality for all your audio needs - DVDs, MP3s, Game Players, Television, Radio and more. They are a must for children in the car, on the plane or hanging out at home.”
I still can’t justify the price. It is $19.99. Maybe I tend to buy used sound monitors from the net (ah! I remember the awesome Sennheiser HD202 headphones).
Portal T-Shirt
Source: Think Geek
In my point of view, this is the best deal among the list. It is $16.99 in value. It is a portal T-Shirt. Enough said. And look at those infamous dialogs from GlaDOS. In fact I am going to buy that right now (My obsession on T-Shirt never goes). Where is my credit card?

Source: zazzle.com
