The Search arc starts with The Sculptor's Assignment in the Sparta region. It quickly turns into the game's first real "progression check." You should fight fair, look for materials on side paths, and learn how the Lycurgus Bust works so you can find new paths and go deeper into the woods.
Parry first, damage second, to win the early fights.

Use Spartan Sprint to break up pressure and build up stun.
When you have some space, use Spartan Sprint to set the pace. It works best after a parry or when your target is about to get away from you. The empowered hit helps build stun and can change the flow of a fight that feels tight. Watch the sprint meter so you don't run out of it right before a dangerous exchange.

Look for materials as you work toward your goal.
What you pick up along the way affects how far you get in Sons of Sparta. Take a detour to get things like Rusty Scrap and stock up on Blood Orbs whenever you can. Upgrades early on are small, but they make a big difference because enemies hit hard and healing is limited.
Exploration also teaches you how the map flows, which is important when you start using tools like the bust to open up new paths.
Lock In Progress at a Campsite Before Going Deeper
The safest place to stop your run is at a campsite. It's where you keep track of your progress, get better, and make the first decisions about upgrades.
Before you go into longer fights, use it as a reset point. You go back to the last Campsite if you die, so touching each one you find saves time.

Get the Lycurgus Bust and Find Out What It Does
You meet Konstantinos, the sculptor-headmaster, and get the Lycurgus Bust as you move forward in the story. This isn't just a story.
It is a tool for moving around that lets you open certain doors and use special "eye" mechanisms. Don't think of it as a temporary quest item; think of it as a permanent utility piece.

Use the Beam of the Bust to Open the Next Path
Once the bust is improved, it can send out a beam from its eyes to turn on optical receptors. When you get to a sealed path that looks like it's "watching" you, put on the Lycurgus Bust and use the beam to start the mechanism.
This is the step that changes The Sculptor's Assignment from a simple task into a real exploration chain, because the same idea will come up again on future locks.
Once the path is clear, keep going toward the woods and be on the lookout for anything related to the assignment, like signs of the Kerkopes or anything with Konstantinos' initials on it.
