Grounded 2 Guide | Bushwhacker Bow Location

This guide shows exactly where to get the Bushwhacker, one of the best bows available in early access of Grounded 2, and explains how to reach the chest that contains it. 

The route lies along the border of Pine Hill and Picnic Table, inside a dense wall of bushes and interwoven branches. Follow the directions below to navigate the maze of roots, spiderweb bridges and orb weavers, so you can reach the chest and claim the unique bow. 

Location

The chest containing the Bushwhacker is hidden at the border of Pine Hill and Picnic Table, on the left side of the area. A giant bush wall blocks most access points; however, a few openings lead into a tangled interior. 

Move to the exact spot where two or three mushrooms grow together—this marks the entrance to the area that leads into the maze of branches and webs.

Route and navigation

Enter the opening and head back into the thicket, then turn to the right and climb the roots or branches of the nearby plants. The path requires crossing a series of spiderweb bridges. 

If using an Orb Weaver, crossing is much faster and safer; on foot or while mounted on an Ant, the route is still possible but takes longer. From the entrance, proceed left, then left again, then either proper or straight, depending on the branch layout. 

Continue past the initial spiderweb bridges, jumping over any small obstacles such as caterpillars encountered on the way.

Enemies and mounts

Expect to encounter large Orb Weaver enemies along the route; there are at least two big Orb Weavers guarding sections of the path. If mounted on an Orb Weaver, it is often possible to jump past these enemies or go around them without engaging. 

On foot or an Ant, prepare weapons and supplies—combat may be required depending on how the Orb Weaver is positioned. Proceed across successive spiderwebs, descend where necessary, and climb back up webbed branches while keeping an eye out for additional orb weavers.

Final approach and chest

After progressing through another spiderweb and turning right, move through a low area under a branch and then climb one more spiderweb. Continue by turning right and then going up and left; this route will lead to a spiderweb that opens into a small rear area. 

From this position, immediately head over to the right and hug the back of the branch system until a leaf can be climbed—this leaf is somewhat tricky to mount, so approach carefully and climb onto it. The chest is located nearby; open it to obtain the Bushwhacker.

Reward and notes

The chest yields the Bushwhacker, a super-rare, unique bow found deep inside the maze. The weapon is superior to basic bows and may rank among the best early-access bows; crafted bows could still outperform it depending on the build, but the Bushwhacker is a valuable, rare find. 

When testing damage and effectiveness, expect the bow to outperform standard bows against smaller orb weavers such as Orb Weaver Jr. This location is ideal if seeking one of the best bows in the game, hidden within a maze of branches and lingon berry bushes.
