With November's biggest releases approaching, the final months of 2026 still have plenty of new games, major expansions, and early access launches lined up for players.

With September's packed release schedule and more games trying to avoid November, the gaming industry still has plenty to look forward to in the last few months of 2026. Many developers have moved launches away from the increasingly crowded release window, but October, November, and December remain busy months with major releases, long-awaited sequels, and new DLC.

GTA 6 is one of the most hyped games coming out, and it drops on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Although the game will not arrive on PC at launch, it remains one of the year's most anticipated releases. Recent controversy has also emerged over claims that someone has access to a substantial portion of the game and is threatening to leak it before its official release.

GTA 6 November Release

Another major November release is WoW Forever, scheduled for November 4.

The project has been in beta for some time and appears to offer the Classic Plus experience many World of Warcraft fans wanted when Blizzard introduced its Classic servers. This release could appeal to players who want a new spin on the original MMO experience, especially if you've wanted more content built around the game's classic version.

Modern Warfare 4 is slated for October 22. Even if some players feel the marketing hasn't been great, the next Call of Duty game is still one of the year's big releases. The game should attract its usual audience as other major games fight for space in October.

Several releases to watch out for in October, starting with Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2, slated for October 14. The sequel builds on the original boomer shooter with new weapons, a different protagonist, and a branching campaign. Players can expect the game to expand on the fast-paced shooting that defined its predecessor while introducing additional ways to approach its campaign.

Another game arriving around the same time is Valor Mortis, scheduled for October 13.

The title is an interesting experiment for a genre that traditionally takes place from a third-person perspective, mixing first-person gameplay with Soulslike mechanics. One downside is that enemies can attack from outside the player's field of vision, making combat harder to manage. Its setting also sets it apart, blending the Napoleonic Wars with fantasy.

Enshrouded is also preparing to leave early access with its full 1.0 release on October 15. The survival game has been available for quite some time, but the upcoming launch gives players a chance to experience the full version. If you've tried it before, there's likely enough new content and improvements to make it worth returning to, especially if you haven't been following its early-access development.

On October 22, Final Fantasy Resonance is scheduled to release its pixel-art style and ties to the larger Final Fantasy franchise to players. The game is a port of a gacha title and has tons of references to previous entries in the series.

The demo has also given us a clearer idea of what the full release will look like visually, so players know what to expect.

Phantom Blade Zero Release on October 29

Another big October release is Phantom Blade Zero, which is due out on October 29. Some players initially thought the game would be a Soulslike, but recent marketing has leaned more toward a faster-paced action game. The game follows a character named Soul, who has only 66 days left to live while attempting to stop events threatening the world. Its combat and visual presentation have already attracted attention, making it one of the month's releases to watch.

December will bring its own selection of major games, including Dawn of War 4, scheduled for December 3. The real-time strategy title returns to a franchise long central to the Warhammer gaming landscape. While this genre might not suit everyone, the upcoming release could still attract players looking for large-scale strategy battles and the Warhammer universe.

Path of Exile 2 is also due to launch 1.0 on December 11.

The long-awaited follow-up is expected to deliver the full release experience, though its December launch comes relatively late in the year, with Christmas approaching. The game already has a dedicated community of content creators, which should help maintain attention around its release.

Beyond new games, several expansions and DLCs are expected to arrive before the year ends. Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is preparing for its final DLC, expected to release sometime in December. The game has improved significantly over its past three expansions, and the final addition will give players another reason to return. It could also lead to more coverage, including updated guides and more story content.

Crimson Desert is also getting new content, with its upcoming DLC now scheduled for October 29 after a two-week delay. The expansion is expected to add more content and give players a chance to revisit parts of the game they may have missed on their first playthrough.

Meanwhile, The Outer Worlds 2 is expected to receive its first DLC relatively soon.

Obsidian Entertainment previously planned two expansions for the game, and recent promotion, along with the addition of Steam achievements, suggests the first release may be approaching. Although the wait for additional content has been considerable, the studio has released DLC about a year after a game's launch in previous cases.

The Outer Worlds 2 DLC Release

Of Ash and Steel is also preparing for an expansion titled Shattered Faith—the original game launched with bugs and technical problems, requiring several updates before the experience improved. Future DLC will expand the game's magical elements with bigger mechanics, plus new locations and content. This might give players a reason to return and see how much the game has changed since its original launch.

Early access launches are expected to help the final months of 2026 as well.

Some demos and previews have just been dropped for Starfinder: Afterlight, which means its planned early access release could still go ahead, though a delay is still possible. Another musical-focused title, There Are No Ghosts at the Grand, is also expected to enter early access in December. But players who want to play the game in its entirety will need the full release, which hasn't been announced yet.

The rest of 2026 is shaping up to be a busy one for the gaming industry, despite a few delays. Plenty of games remain to look forward to before the end of the year, including GTA 6, Modern Warfare 4, Phantom Blade Zero, Path of Exile 2, and many more expansions. More announcements and possible schedule changes are coming, and the final months could add even more games to an already packed release calendar.
