Horizon Forbidden West New Weapon Modification
If you're doing speedruns in Horizon Forbidden West, you'll love the new weapon upgrade.

The release of Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores DLC introduced a variety of new customization options, some of which were demonstrably superior to anything available in the main game. The most effective of these new customization options was the pristine weapon curl, which made weapons not only faster but added a lot of damage and quickly became a staple of the NG+ Speedruns. So, did the same thing take place with the Horizon Forbidden West burning coastlines DLS? In case you're curious about this, there's a recent update that adds the capability to do just that.
Where to find the coil:
Let's start with the obvious question of where you can find this upgrade. After completing the first main quest, The Burning Shores, and demolishing the tower, you will gain access to this mod from the Burning Shores downloadable content. However, there is a secret method to obtain two alterations in each game. So, after you've destroyed the tower, make sure you don't speak to Seyka before looting it. Because if you engage Seyka in conversation, you'll trigger yet another modification. So, you can gain a total of two from looting the tower before and after you give one to Seyka. This clever technique allows you to obtain multiple items in a single run. Further acceleration could be gained through the use of a duplicating glitch.
How does the coil work:
Okay, so how exactly does the coil perform well? Your critical hit chance is increased by 15%, and your damage increases by the same amount. The damage is adequate, but at 15%, it is clearly inferior to other modifications that may increase your damage by 25%. The increased likelihood of scoring critical hits is the most crucial aspect of this improvement, as critical hits, if they occur, dramatically increase the damage done by each shot to get critical.
Loadout:
To maximize the potential benefit, you need to achieve the highest possible critical hit chance. This indicates that you will need to settle for a loadout that is not overly complex. You should employ Iriv's Downfall for this purpose because it is the only sharp shot bow that uses lead precision arrows capable of dealing a significant amount of damage. It also features a wonderful ability that grants you an additional damage benefit if you fire off concentrated shots, which lends itself pretty well to an intense playstyle and something you would need for a speedrun.
When it comes to the modifications, all you need to do is equip five of the elite critical hit modifications. This will provide you with a 75% increase in damage. But what's more crucial is that they'll now give you an 80% chance of landing a critical hit whenever you use them. As a result, the combined alterations offer you a clear 75% probability of scoring a critical hit. Sharp shot bows naturally have a 5% chance of scoring a critical hit. This means that whenever you shoot this bow from now on, a critical hit will result in four out of every five of your shots.
Additionally, a Low Health Ranged outfit can be used to increase the damage output of this Loadout. When your health is below 50 percent, the damage that you deal will be increased. You might also use the outfit known as the Tenakth Vanquisher to make the most of this ability. You'll be able to have a particularly speedy and aggressive playstyle if you employ this Loadout in conjunction with the weapon method known as Focused Shot.
Speedrun Potential:
This has a tremendous amount of untapped potential moving ahead in terms of New Game Plus Speedruns, particularly on the hardest difficulty setting. Because of this Loadout, you will have much greater mobility during the areas of the game that include combat, and it will need an additional degree of skill from you because you will need to aim carefully and target certain weak points to make the most of each shot. This will result in an increased skill gap as well as increased potential for the speedrunners. However, it is obvious that not every shot will be a key one and that you will be playing with this particular set-up. Simply put, bad luck is something you can't avoid all the time.
Chain Burst:
The final piece of this Loadout's damage-increasing puzzle is development Surges. I would suggest utilizing Valor Surges, Chain Brust. As long as the targets are close enough to one another, this will transfer the damage from the enemy you are now attacking to the next enemy in line, and so on. This is a fine way to showcase the potential usefulness of Valor Surges, particularly in The Kulrut mission, mostly due to the fact that many of your enemies will appear in large packs that have been cloned together.
So go ahead and try this build and share your thoughts on how well you did in your next run.
