Kingambit is one of the best new evolutions tied to an older line in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. The process is not hard, but it has a special requirement after Bisharp. You first need to catch Pawniard in the right area, evolve it at the correct level, and then defeat specific Bisharp “leaders” while your own Bisharp is holding the right item.

Where To Find Pawniard Early

If you want Pawniard early, search East Province (Area Three) and stay near the rivers. Pawniard is commonly found along the water, and you can run into groups of them in this area. Once you reach the river line, keep scanning the bank until you spot a cluster and start an encounter.

Evolve Pawniard Into Bisharp

After you catch Pawniard, level it up until it evolves into Bisharp at Level 52. If you want it fast, you can use Exp. Candies to push it straight to the evolution level.

Get The Leader’s Crest From A Leader Bisharp

To evolve Bisharp into Kingambit, you need to defeat three Bisharp that have a Leader’s Crest. First, you need to get that crest. Go to the location shown on the map where Bisharp spawns heavily, then look for one that is clearly a leader. These leaders can be annoying to force, so moving around the area and checking multiple spawns helps. When you find a leader, catch it so you can take its Leader’s Crest.

Move The Leader’s Crest To Your Bisharp

Once you catch a leader Bisharp, check its held item. The Leader’s Crest is removable, so you can take it off and give it to your own Bisharp. Open the Pokémon menu, remove the held item from the leader, and then give that item to the Bisharp you want to evolve.

Defeat Three Leader Bisharp, Then Level Up

Now make your crest-holding Bisharp your lead Pokémon and hunt down three more leader Bisharp in that same general area. You must battle and defeat them. If leader spawns feel slow, use a sandwich that boosts encounters.

A simple option shown in the route is an Encounter Power: Dark Level 1 sandwich to help bring more of the right spawns into the area.

After you defeat three leader Bisharp, the evolution may still need a final push. Level up your Bisharp once more, and it will evolve into Kingambit.
