If you want every Lycanroc form in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the main thing you need to control is time. Rockruff evolves at the same level, but the form you get changes based on when you level it up.

The only exception is Dusk Form, which needs a specific ability before the time window even matters. Once you understand the spawn spot and the time icon on the map, you can finish all three evolutions quickly.

Where To Find Rockruff

Rockruff is easy to find early. A good spot is on a land bridge where several of them spawn together. You can also find a higher-level one up above if you can reach the ledge, but the land bridge usually has multiple options around the lower levels. Catch any Rockruff you like, then prepare for the evolution step.

Know The Time Of Day Using The Map Icon

The quickest way to confirm the time is to tap the icon at the top-middle of your map. A sun icon means daytime, and a moon icon means night. During the evening window, the icon shifts to an orange sun look. This matters because the form you get depends on when you level up your Rockruff.

How To Get Midday Form Lycanroc

To get Midday Form Lycanroc, level Rockruff up to level 25 during the day. If it is midday, use Exp. Candy to push it to level 25 quickly. Once it hits level 25 in the daytime, the evolution triggers, and you get Midday Form.

How To Get Midnight Form Lycanroc

To get Midnight Form Lycanroc, level Rockruff up to level 25 at night. The moon icon at the top of the map is the easiest way to confirm. Once it is night, give Rockruff a candy, hit level 25, and it evolves into Midnight Form.

How To Get Dusk Form Lycanroc

Dusk Form Lycanroc is the special one. You must catch a Rockruff with the ability Own Tempo. Without Own Tempo, you cannot get Dusk Form. A fast way to check abilities is bringing a Pokémon with Trace, such as Ralts. When the battle starts, Trace copies the opponent’s ability, so you can instantly see if the Rockruff has Own Tempo without catching it first.

After you get an Own Tempo Rockruff, evolve it during the evening window by leveling it up to level 25 before the evening time ends. The evening icon appears as an orange sun-like symbol. Use candies to level fast, because the timing can change quickly if you wait too long.
