Pokémon Scarlet And Violet Guide | How to Get Magnemite and Evolve into Magnezone
Find Magnemite near the three rivers, evolve it at Level 30, then use a Thunder Stone to get Magnezone.
Game Guide by Monarch on Mar 09, 2026
Magnemite is a great early Electric-type in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, especially if you want a strong final evolution without complicated steps. You can catch it at a single reliable outdoor spot, then complete the entire evolution line with a simple level-up and one item.
Where To Find Magnemite
You can find Magnemite close to the three rivers on the right-hand side of the map. The route uses this general area as the main spawn zone, so start here instead of searching randomly across the region. Fly to the nearby fast travel point shown in the route, then begin scanning the grass and open ground around you. Magnemite can appear very quickly once you enter the right area.
If you are having trouble getting one to spawn, you can use an Electric encounter food item from restaurants to increase Electric-type spawns and make the search easier.

Catch Magnemite
Once you see Magnemite, start the encounter and catch it. In this spawn zone, it can appear right in front of you, so do not rush past it while riding. Catching it early saves time later because you can evolve it quickly with candies or regular battles.

Evolve Magnemite Into Magneton
After you catch Magnemite, level it up to Level 30. At Level 30, it evolves into Magneton automatically. If you want the fast method, use Exp. Candies to push it straight to the level requirement. Once it hits Level 30, the evolution triggers right away.

Get A Thunder Stone
To evolve Magneton into Magnezone, you need a Thunder Stone. You can buy Thunder Stones at Delibird Presents stores. Each town can have one or even two Delibird Presents, so just enter the shop, find the stone, and purchase it. You can also find Thunder Stones while exploring, but buying one is the quickest option.
Evolve Magneton Into Magnezone
Open your bag, select the Thunder Stone, and use it on Magneton. The evolution happens immediately, and Magneton becomes Magnezone right away. This is the final step, so once the stone is used, your evolution line is complete.
