Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Guide | Where to Find Greavard and Evolve into Houndstone
Catch a low-level Greavard in the snow, then evolve it into Houndstone at night.
Game Guide by Jubair Baky on Feb 25, 2026
Greavard can be hard to track down because it is small and blends into its surroundings. It can spawn in more than one place, but the most reliable results come from the snowy region.
Once you finally catch one, the evolution is quick, but there is one important rule. Greavard only evolves at night, so daytime leveling will not trigger Houndstone even if the level is correct.
Greavard Location And Best Area To Search
The habitat range shows Greavard in multiple zones, but the snow area is the better place to look if you want consistent spawns. The grassland area can feel empty, and Greavard may not show up there at all.
In the snow, it is easier to get results, but it can still take a few minutes. Keep scanning the ground closely, because Greavard is pretty small and can disappear from view fast.

Tips To Spot And Catch Greavard Faster
Move slowly and keep your camera low as you search. If a Greavard spawns nearby, it may walk off quickly, so it helps to stay alert once you see movement.
If one vanishes, keep circling the same patch for a moment. A spawn can appear again after a short loop, especially if you are already in the right part of the snow region.
How To Evolve Greavard Into Houndstone
To evolve Greavard into Houndstone, you need two things: the correct level and the correct time. Greavard must reach level 30 and level up during the night. If you try this in the daytime, it will not work. Wait until night, then level it up, and the evolution will trigger.

Fast Nighttime Evolution With Exp. Candy
Once it is night, give Greavard a Medium Exp. Candy to push it to the next level.

If it is still short, use a smaller candy after. As soon as it hits the level-up at night, the evolution animation starts, and Houndstone appears.
