Salandit is not hard to find in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, but evolving it has one important rule that can waste your time if you miss it. You must first catch the correct gender. After that, the evolution is simple and requires only a level.

Where To Find Salandit Fast

Salandit is found everywhere, mostly in caves. Once you enter a cave, you should be able to find one fairly easily. A simple early cave route is to go to the nearby PokeStop location shown in the route, then go down the road right next to it.

That road leads to a cave, and there are usually a bunch of Salandit inside.

Catch The Female Salandit. Only

This is the key detail. You have to catch a female Salandit. The male version does not evolve, so catching the wrong one means you will never get Salazzle from it. When you encounter Salandit, check the gender icon before committing to train it. If it is male, you can skip it and keep searching the cave until you find a female.

Level Salandit To 35 To Evolve

After you catch a female Salandit, level it up to Level 35. Once it reaches Level 35, it evolves into Salazzle. If you catch one at a higher level than 35, it can evolve right away as soon as it gains a level. In the example route, the Salandit is already above the requirement, so the evolution triggers immediately.

Quick Tip For Instant Evolution

If your female Salandit is already near the mid-30s, use a quick battle or a small Exp. Share. Candy to push it over the line. That single level is enough to trigger the evolution and secure Salazzle without extra grinding.
